Rio de Janeiro…., one of the greatest places yet!! From the beautiful skyline to the amazing detail on the sculptures, this place is absolutely astounding. When we visited, which was about last year, they were still preparing for the 2016 Olympic Games. The air was filled with pollution because of the construction but nevertheless, this place is beautiful. The most stunning thing there was the beaches, and how the water glistened in the 70 degree sun, while people of all ages played volleyball. In fact, we even had to take a beach tour to get around to all the beaches!! While the beaches were great, the Christ statue and Sugarloaf Mountain was equally spectacular. The Christ Statue was way up on the tip of a high mountain, and if you don’t go with a tour guide, the line could be very long. However, the view is breathtaking. Just make sure you don’t on a cloudy day as you can’t see anything. We took a cable car up to the mountain then used elevators to get to the top. Sugarloaf Mountain shouldn’t be a problem though. You will take a cable car up, and then get off and take a great amount of pictures. The view is too good to describe. Rio was a short trip for us, about 4 days, but those 4 days were amazing. The food is great (lots of options to choose from), and the hotel that we stayed at was right by the stadium where the FIFA World Cup was held in 2014. I would definitely go back!! 10 out of 10 for sure!!!
